Charlotte is excited and thought it was very funny that I cried so much after her final day! Over the past year her face has matured and she no longer looks like a really little girl. It's funny how this can delight you at the same time as sadden you! Charlotte has taught herself to read this year and at nearly 6 years old, she's definitely ready for school.
I can only imagine my tears after I drop her off on her first day. Did you feel the same or do you have a child starting school next year? xx
From our day together at the zoo recently.

She does look more grown up, esp in that photo. I can totally understand your feelings. I felt like that when Will moving up from the baby to toddler room at his little school earlier this year. :)
I can imagine that there will be lots of mummy tears on the first day of school. You will have to get some other mums together and go have a cry together at the local coffee shop or something :)

There were lots of tears (from me!) last week when Oliver finished preschool. He is my second heading off to school and it doesn't get any easier. There will be tears from me on the first day of big school I am sure. It is such an exciting time for them! I will be thinking of you on the first day of school in 2012.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

She looks very grown up indeed :) Paul is always asking me "how will you go on Grace's first day at kindy?" I know there'll be tears from me for sure. I can't imagine how I'll be when she starts actual school :)
My eldest son finished school a couple of weeks ago. I cried as I dropped him off for the last time. A very strange feeling.
Doesn't time fly. I am very aware of how fleeting childhood is at the moment. My eldest is almost 14 and he is little no more. I am cherishing my little one's pre Christmas excitement. Reminds me that he still has a couple of years of kid-dom left. Comes and goes in a heartbeat. Once they're at school, the time really flies. Hold on to your hat! Happy Christmas lovely. A-M xx
I remember that feeling of leaving kinder. I was teary all day. I still do get teary saying goodbye to my children's teachers. They have had fantastic ones this year.
Enjoy the holidays, before you know it you will be getting to know her primary teacher. Merry Christmas to you and your gorgeous family Rachael. deb
Bittersweet indeed Rachael! I'll be thinking you on your first day next year. but until then I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your lovely family.

Oh goodness, I saw your post and just had to comment. We have four daughters (15,18,24,26). Be prepared to cry when they leave elementary school, start high school, graduate high school, go off to college, graduate college, get married...etc.,etc. As a matter of fact, parenthood is one big joy and cry at the same time and we wouldn't change it for the world! : )
