Kitchen Island and More Charlie

Hello lovely friends, here's the last bit of the kitchen, finally..

Lots of drawers, of course! I remember when we were drawing up the measurements and I thought the overhang of the stone top was a little short to fit stools underneath. Despite a hard push to stick with the original measurements, I decided to extend it by 10cm and I'm so glad I did. Just another one of those little things that could have been a renovation regret!

And here's a bit more of sweet Charlie..

Asleep on the sofa after staying up for Halloween.

Despite a bit of a digestive problem that gets me up at 4.30 most mornings (ongoing tests), he really is a wonderful dog, so affectionate and clever. We are besotted with him! Even the cats don't mind him.. What is it about dogs? Do you have one in your family? xx

Hello lovely, long time no speak! I must get around and visit more. I love your kitchen. I am actually going to pin your beautiful drawers to my Pinterest kitchen board. Congrats on little Charlie. You must be over the moon ... and the girls too! A-M xx

Do you have anything that you find doesn't fit in a drawer properly? Or any regrets about your kitchen?

I wish we had more drawers in our kitchen, in hindsight I would have made the west wall all drawers. Ah well, just another reason on why we should move house and renovate again :D

Your kitchen has me crying with envy. Still nothing happening here with our nightmare, MOTH reckons he's got bigger renovation fish to fry at the moment. Charlie wins the Cutest Dog of the Week Award, he's too gorgeous. I'm in mourning here as despite my strict instructions, Lulu came home from MOTH's Dog Grooming class clipped to within an inch of her life. My beautiful shaggy girl is now totally unrecognizable. MOTH is now sharing the dog house with Lulu for an an indefinite time.

Your kitchen is lovely and the island beautiful - what fantastic storage. I remember going through such angst when designing my island! Charlie is too cute. We are also completely besotted with our pup. x Sharon

I wish I had put an extra 10 cms on my bench. It fits stools but only just. Yours is so fresh and lovely. Charlie looks like a sweetie. Aren't kids and dogs a great mix!

It's amazing how crucial those 'little' decisions are during design & construction...they make all the difference in the world. You were obviously using the best tools in your design arsenal...gut & instict, they're usually always right!!
Charlie is such a sweetheart...what a blessing he is for your whole family...and I don't know that I'd ever be able to put him down.

Looks fab! I've just moved and I don't have any drawers in my kitchen. Sad panda. I designed my last kitchen with some and they were so useful.

I have two Bichon Frise - Fifi and Pierre. They're our naughty little rascals and love em to bits.
