Girls' Bedroom

I made a little more progress this weekend on my little girls' bedroom. I've been looking for a storage solution to place along a long wall opposite their beds. I found this at Ikea and two side by side covers the wall, perfect!

Now I just need a little more decorating inspiration. The first place I always start for their room is Pottery  Barn Kids. I think the rooms they create are just gorgeous.. if only their products were available in Australia..

How could you choose, they are all gorgeous! We have an IKEA storage unit in our boys room and it holds an amazing amount of toys and books. Can't wait to see what you do. ;-)

Ooooh, Rachael, they are so lovely, thank you for the inspiration! I was just sitting at my computer thinking about what to do with my little girls' rooms, and here is your post! One of my bedrooms I need to update from baby room to little school girl room, and the other will be a complete revamp of our study to be a bedroom for my middle girl. And these rooms are just so lovely!! If you come across any other inspiration, make sure you post them, and I can't wait to see what you come up with! I'll do the same,

Beautiful inspiration pics Rachael! It is so frustrating when we dont have the products in Australia. How good is Ikea, I love those shelves. xx
P.S - Did I happen to see my lil blog as your Blog of the Week? Wow, I am so honoured! xx

I torture myself regularly by looking at Pottery Barn Kids. These Americans don't know how lucky they are with all their fabulous stores ;-))) You could always try an internet site called Bongo which acts as a "middle man" by giving you a US address to then get items shipped to you.

Thank you for the tip Littlemissairgap! I've used Bongo in the past for Christmas presents and it was a pretty expensive exercise, however, that was for fairly heavy things. For lighter weight items, it is an excellent service xx

What pretty rooms, perfect for little girls. Pottery Barn in Aus would be very nice, but then I'd be happy with an Ikea in Tassie!
I'm sure your rooms will look amazing! x

Great inspiration. If only PB would open a store in oz! Can you tell me the name of the storage unit you got from Ikea? It looks like a Hemnes unit (yes I'm an Ikea tragic!) but I don't think our Adelaide store sells it? Thanks, B.

Thanks for your lovely comment B. It is a Hemnes Console Table. Ikea Australia don't have them on their site but they are in the stores. The price is $449. xx

You can get Pottery Barn products shipped to Australia through this website: ComGateway.com.

A really good site with access to heaps of American sites that won't ship to Oz.

Check it out!

Rachael that is a gorgeous cabinet, so much prettier than the Expedit!

I can't wait to see your finished room, I just know it will be so lovely :)

I too love Pottery Barn, why oh why isn't it here, humph! The last picture you posted reminds me a lot of my girls' room, we have a beautiful big tree between their beds.

Hello,

Beautiful inspirational pictures. I love the fourth picture. I wish I had enough room to do that for my boys. Also just got the white iron bed PBK for our little girl. She adores it.
Can't wait to see what you do.

Love your Ikea find Rachael, and such pretty inspirational rooms. Can't wait to see what you do. I once decorated my daughter's room with a very pretty stencil, flowers etc...great until we realised that she's not a girly girl :) Was fun while it lasted though!

Rachael...I didn't realize you all didn't have access to Pottery Barn there...that needs to be remedied!

Are you in the middle of all this flooding going on??? If so, please take care and best wishes for staying dry!

Don't know if this will help regarding the lack of pottery barn in australia:
myamericanshopper.com will purchase and ship anything that can be purchased on a U.S website.
