Update

The flooring issue is resolving well so far..yesterday several of the lighter boards on the steps were replaced with darker ones, an instant improvement. I had a constructive conversation with the tradesman at fault which ended with his apologies and a lesson learned, which I appreciate. Today our no.1 flooring man will start sanding everything back to timber before applying several new coats. If that fails, I'll just paint them white..

I'm kidding..As much as I love white floors, they wouldn't suit my home..
The great thing about all this is that we get to have another little holiday (we can't stay in the house as the fumes are very strong). This time we'll be near the beach and not too far from the city.. And there are several lovely shops nearby..Happy Wednesday xx

Every cloud has a silver lining! Enjoy your "holiday". Love that last image. Can we presume this is an indication of how you intend to spend your time???

Oh, these stories make me nervous when we are about to start building. Especially when we are having hard wood flooring through out the house, will be watching like a hawk.
Hope the finished product is good, make sure you post the pictures when finished.
Can you give me your floor sanding mans name, we are on the hunt for someone.
Thanks
Mekaela

Glad to hear things are sorting themselves out Rachael. I never leave my Builder alone for a second, not a second. He's constantly whingeing about my micro-managing him. He reckons it wasn't in the marriage vows.
