Powder Room

On our list of projects to complete is our powder room. It has been sitting unpainted for a couple of months because I can't decide whether to paint or wallpaper the walls. My original inspiration came from Sarah Richardson..Sarah used a chair rail to divide the wall, using a grey blue on the bottom and gorgeous wallpaper on the top. She created a beautiful mosaic 'carpet' with stone on the floor.

It's a stunning room, however, I'm now leaning towards something a little simpler. I chose a shimmering, tiny waffle white tile for the floor, so I think perhaps some white walls and a pretty mirror will be perfect. While I work on this (and simultaneously the kitchen, main bathroom, playroom, etc,.), here's some powder room inspiration..xx

They are all stunning images. I can't wait to see your finished powder room, I'm sure it will be beautiful as you have such great taste. I have never seen a tiled 'carpet' before either! Have a great Monday Rachael.

Love the powder rooms... lovely inspiration. I particularly love the one with the white pedestal sink, beveled mirror and the tone on tone wall vines. I can't wait to see how yours turns out. Myself I'm still renovating too, It's a process :)

I am a new fan of Sarah Richardson - and fell in love with her powder room too... and the clever tiled carpet. Love the lifestyle channel...

Love your home and already have laundry envy! Stand by for loo envy too - who would have thought that was a phrase I'd use?!

Love these Rachael. I really liked Sarah Richardson's powder room, I think it's gorgeous and the tiled floors looked fantastic. But I'm with you, I just can't go past white and that's what we've chosen for our ensuite reno. Can't wait to see your finished rooms, I'm sure they'll be amazing!

I really like the charcoal walls on the fifth pic! I think white or any lighter hue will make the room much brighter though..
Will you post the photos of your finished powder room?? I can't wait to see them!!
Wish you a great start to your week

Rachael , great timing with your powder room inspiration. I love the tiled mat idea, was going to do it but finding the tiles quickly for the tiler when he was ready to start was a issue so we just tiled through with the same tile. I think was the best choice for us in a smaller area .
We seem to be going through the same process. We also have had a unfinished powder room for 3 months just waiting for me to decide or find the time to decide what to do with it while also simultaneously renovating the bathroom , laundry, kitchen /family , new furniture for my sons first big boy room , courtyard / garden etc etc. why didnt I just start one room & finish it before pulling apart the next one ?
